Historical Background
Lion dance is one of the best-known performance traditions associated with Lunar New Year celebrations and other important occasions across Chinese communities. It combines coordinated movement, music, costume, and pageantry, with performers animating a colourful lion figure through expressive steps and energetic choreography. The lion is widely associated with auspiciousness, vitality, protection, and the welcoming of good fortune. During festive events, lion dances may be performed at homes, businesses, temples, and public celebrations, creating a lively atmosphere as communities mark the beginning of a new year and express hopes for prosperity and happiness. This QuanGuan model interprets that celebratory tradition through construction bricks, turning a dynamic cultural performance into a compact display and building experience. Its New Year theme makes it a fitting way to introduce younger builders to the visual language of festive celebration while offering collectors a colourful piece with cultural character.
