About Renault FT
Bring an early landmark of armoured vehicle design to the workbench with the Renault FT construction-brick model. Presented in 1:35 scale, this compact build captures the distinctive proportions of the celebrated French tank in a format that is approachable for younger builders while still offering plenty of character for collectors. With 415 pieces, the model provides an engaging project that can be completed as a focused standalone build or displayed as part of a wider military vehicle collection. Its small footprint makes it easy to place alongside larger interwar and WWII models, creating a varied timeline of armoured design without overwhelming a shelf or display cabinet. The Renault FT’s instantly recognisable layout gives this model strong visual appeal: a compact hull, tracked running gear and a centrally positioned turret create a clear silhouette that remains easy to identify from every angle. Construction-brick assembly adds a satisfying hands-on dimension, allowing builders to appreciate the form through the process of putting it together. Designed for enthusiasts of French military history, classic armoured vehicles and brick-built models, the set makes an accessible introduction to historical vehicle collecting. Whether chosen as a first military build, a thoughtful gift or a compact addition to a curated display, the Renault FT combines educational interest, display value and enjoyable building in one distinctive model.
Historical Background
The Renault FT was a French light tank introduced during the First World War and is widely regarded as one of the most influential armoured vehicles in military history. Its configuration placed the turret above a tracked hull, establishing a layout that would shape the design of many later tanks. Unlike earlier armoured vehicles that often positioned their main weapon elsewhere on the chassis, the Renault FT’s rotating turret gave it a clearer fighting arrangement and improved all-round flexibility. Its compact dimensions and comparatively modern layout made it an important step in the development of armoured warfare. This model represents the Renault FT in a collector-friendly 1:35 scale, offering a concise way to explore the vehicle’s place in French and wider military history. It is particularly well suited to displays focused on the evolution of tank design from the First World War through the interwar period.
