Historical Background
The 12.8 cm Pak 44 was one of the largest and most powerful anti-tank guns developed by Germany during the Second World War. Designed by Krupp, it fired massive 128 mm armor-piercing projectiles capable of penetrating virtually every Allied tank at long range. The Pak 44 shared its powerful gun with the famous Jagdtiger tank destroyer, where it became one of the most formidable anti-tank weapons of the war. Although its firepower was exceptional, the towed version was extremely heavy, weighing over 10 tons, making transportation and deployment difficult under combat conditions.
