Historical Background
The FLAK 38 was a German 20 mm automatic anti-aircraft cannon developed during the Second World War. The designation “FLAK” is derived from the German term for anti-aircraft artillery, while “38” refers to the year associated with its introduction. Known for its compact dimensions and rapid-firing design, the FLAK 38 was used in a variety of defensive and support roles. Its relatively light format made it suitable for deployment in different environments and on selected vehicle-mounted platforms. Today, the FLAK 38 remains recognizable for its angular gun shield, compact carriage, and distinctive four-wheel configuration. This construction-brick interpretation focuses on those characteristic visual elements, offering collectors a small-scale way to appreciate an important piece of twentieth-century military engineering.
